ownCloud

ownCloud is an intuitive cloud file storing, file synching and sharing, data privacy and collaboration solution

It is the largest Open Source Content Collaboration Platform in the world

With over 50 million users across the globe, ownCloud enables Data Infrastructure Modernization, realized through a common file access layer regardless of where the data lives – in applications, object stores, on-premises storage or in the cloud – all completely managed, secured and controlled by IT.

ownCloud gives organizations the ability to access, control and manage files across applications, on-premises or cloud storage, or other data silos. Open by nature, ownCloud integrates into your existing infrastructure and offers the extensibility required to meet your specific needs.

Which one to choose?

Maybe your operations routinely generate so much data that your infrastructure growth appears unsustainable. In short you have data challenges and you suspect that you can address them by moving data to the cloud.

Selecting the right provider can seem daunting, but you can choose with more confidence by asking the right questions:

  • What problems do you hope to solve by using a cloud provider?
  • Where a cloud solution seems the better option, as it often is, what would be the alternative? Can you compare and estimate the benefit of choosing one over the other?
  • Are you ready to adopt that solution not just technically but culturally? Can you imagine your organization using the solution consistently or might many users stick to prevailing methods of storing their data?

That's why ownCloud is the right solution

ownCloud Enterprise offers unsurpassed transparency, security and control and can be flexibly integrated into any existing environment. At the same time, users can access company files quickly and easily from anywhere and from any device. This increases both safety and productivity.

Wherever you are, your data is with you

When traveling, access ownCloud through your Android or iOS devices. Automatically upload pictures after taking them. Sync files at home or work with the desktop client keeping one or more local folders synchronized between devices.

And wherever you are, the web interface lets you view, share and edit your files alone or with others. Want to integrate third-party storage providers? With its open and flexible architecture, ownCloud offers implementations of Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive and many more.

Syncing made easy

Automatically upload your pictures and videos and synchronize selected files and folders. Trace activities on your server and get notified of new shares and other important events. All data transfers are highly secured by SSL encryption, chunked uploads, checksum verifications, WebDAV optimizations and much more.

ownCloud offers rich Android and iOS mobile clients (see here), as well as Windows, Mac and Linux desktop sync clients (see here).

Completely secured: Store. Share. Work.

Maximum data security

At ownCloud, we take security very seriously and we know that it encompasses broad considerations, processes and technologies. ownCloud installs in your data center; managed by you, to your policies, following your procedures.

Encryption at rest secures your files on the server and still allows sharing among users. The File Firewall ensures all access requests meet rules set by the administrator, and existing infrastructure – such as intrusion detection and log management – can provide added layers of security. With WebDAV, mobile libraries and the ownCloud API as well as several enterprise-only apps, secure file sharing is in your control.

ownCloud is fully EU-GDPR compliant.
